Home Inspections

Weather you're a first-time home buyer or a seasoned home owner, a professional home inspection should be considered.  A home inspection can be written in your offer to purchase as a contingency.  An inspection is an opportunity for an expert, of your choosing, to look closely at the house you are considering purchasing and to get both an unbiased oral and written opinion as to the condition of the property.

It is recommended that you attend the home inspection and this gives you an opportunity to ask the inspector questions about the condition of the property.  No questions are foolish, learn as much as you can from the home inspector during the inspection.

There is a limit to what any inspector can uncover, because home inspections are visual inspections and destructive inspection is not the standard of practice in the industry.  Inspections can typically take a few hours to complete and once the home inspection is complete, review the inspection report carefully.

What You Should Know

A home buyer should know the condition of the home being purchased, including positive and negative aspects.

You should know what repairs are needed and whether there are any major defects.
